Whiskey and the Renegades Return
Whiskey is thrilled to announce that East of Hell, the sequel to her debut novel West of Hell, has been completed, and after a successful Kickstarter campaign, East of Hell is already approaching a publication date for the end of 2019
A few years ago, I put together a Kickstarter to finance the publication of my debut novel, West of Hell, and that Kickstarter project entitled Whiskey Goes Rogue has fundamentally changed the course of my writing career. Not only did we get West of Hell published, but we also saw West of Hell take flight amongst readers all over the world, and the demand for a sequel grew louder and louder amongst supporters.
From the moment I held a hardback copy of West of Hell in my hands fresh off the printer, I knew I wouldn't be able to let up until East of Hell was completed. And within two years, a far contrast from the five it took me to complete West of Hell, I am thrilled to announce that East of Hell is on it's way to being a hardback novel.
I am an outspoken advocate of self-publication and additionally of hybrid publishers, which is one of the many reasons my publisher actively sought me out. In the case of working with a hybrid publisher, the idea is simple: you own your story. There are no demands put on you to change plot focus, shift character qualities, or to shorten or lengthen your work for any reason. As long as you provide a certain amount of funding, the project is yours and yours alone, and if the moment arises down the road when you hit the big time, they own no part of what you've created. I sincerely hope this could be the way of the future, because if it is, I feel like art, in all of it's glory, will make a significant cultural comeback.
Kickstarter is a place where I feel other artists like myself have been able to create a platform of supporters, and your support is what makes us able to create and distribute our masterpieces to you. If you loved West of Hell, if you're a fan of my podcast Legacy: the Artists Behind the Legends, or if you simply love historical fiction thrillers, then I promise this second book in the West of Hell trilogy is going to knock your socks off.
East of Hell picks up a few years after the cliff-hanging conclusion of West of Hell, and our heroes are scattered, each one of them fighting for the same cause from very different angles. We find Thomas still in England, training with Hiroaki to follow in the footsteps of his late father and bring vengeance upon Richard Croker and Tammany Hall. As one might expect, the Madame is thriving in New York City, expanding the scope of her business while taking Celeste Hiltmore under her wing at The Palace. Louis resiliently runs the guise of working for Croker alongside the notorious Will Sweeney, keeping an eye on the Whyos as the gang becomes increasingly more hostile and violent. And last but not least, what of Esther?
You won't believe it until you read it.
Are you ready to return to New York?
